“I am a Case Worker, and Service Development Co-Lead at cliniQ – The UK’s only weekly sexual health and wellbeing service for trans* people in the UK. I am actively involved in supporting trans* people, their friends, families and partners, and I am passionate about helping people find the right tools to overcome adversity. I am in the process of completing my social work training, whilst working for another sexual health organisation, however, I volunteer my time to work to cliniQ wherever possible. Our service has gained a lot of attention in the last 6 months, with coverage in The Guardian, The Nursing Standard, and an amazing award for ‘Enhancing Patient Dignity’ from The Nursing Times.
Together with my colleagues at cliniQ, I work with national bodies such as Public Health England, and NHS England to develop trans* appropriate health initiatives and inclusive research policies. At cliniQ, I am part of a team which improves and refines the way our service functions – this has included the development of our outreach service (cliniQ mobile), parts of our Wellbeing Programme, including trans* inclusive yoga and the UK’s only support group for HIV positive trans* people.”
