cliniQ Acupuncture

Can acupuncture help me?

Many people have benefited from treatment with acupuncture.  Some people feel revitalised and find acupuncture relaxing.  Acupuncture can sometimes give temporary relief of pain for a number of conditions.  If you’ve never had acupuncture before, or if you want to discuss any questions or concerns you have about whether acupuncture would benefit you, I would love to talk with you.

What to know about my appointment

Please come to the clinic 10 minutes early on your first visit to complete some simple paperwork.  Make sure you have eaten something light and drink plenty of water before and after your treatment.  After a brief chat, needles will be inserted and left in for about 30 minutes.  The whole session will last for one hour.  Please wear comfortable clothes.  Sometimes treatments require the removal certain items of clothing, but this will always be discussed with you, and your comfort is my primary concern.

About Amanda

My first career was as a secondary school teacher, moving to London in 1990 for my first full time teaching post in Waltham Forest.  My own health issues introduced me to acupuncture about 13 years ago, and the rest, as they say, is history.  I decided to complete a four-year Masters degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine, training in San Francisco and Los Angeles.  I worked in the clinic at Emperor’s College in Santa Monica, Los Angeles, treating hundreds of people with a wide and varied array of health issues.  I also spent 6 months at the Being Alive Sexual Health Clinic in West Hollywood working with the HIV team, giving some relief to patients affected by side effects of the drug regime and to help build a sense of well-being in them.  I have been part of the team at CliniQ since July 2015.
